Het concept van milieuvriendelijke auto's wordt op alle fases in de levenscyclus van een auto toegepast. Van ontwerp tot recycling creëert Kia Motors Corporation innovatieve producten die zich vertalen in uiterst geavanceerde DfR-richtlijnen (Design for Recycling). In de productie van de auto's gebruikt Kia waar mogelijk gerecyclede en recyclebare materialen. Alle grote kunststof onderdelen worden geselecteerd op basis van hun demonteerbaarheid en krijgen een stempel met een samenstellingscode.

Ook aan het einde van de levenscyclus van een auto streeft Kia Motors Corporation naar de milieuvriendelijke inname en verwerking van voertuigen. Voor dit strenge proces selecteerde Kia Motors Corporation in heel Europa partners die garanderen dat ze het milieu respecteren bij de verwerking van schadelijk afval. Dat afval wordt vervolgens gerecycled om het milieu maximaal te ontzien.

But not only the design also the ecological friendly take-back and treatment of End-of-Life vehicles is one of Kia Motors environmental targets.

By applying a strictly environmental oriented selection process, Kia Motors has selected partners across Europe that ensure environmental protection when handling harmful substances and waste streams. These waste streams are to a great extent later recycled or recovered to ensure the highest level of protection of natural resources.
